Because it's nice to look back...
(Like I did earlier at Declan's first- 2012)
*The snow was magic. A furious flurry of white followed by blue skies and sun, leaving only the slightest lingering trace that it ever was there at all.*
*While Declan enjoyed his stocking, we still have about half of it in tact hanging next to me. Might get us through the long trek home.*
*His train? Christmas magic. He ran around the rooms crying out the "woo-wooos" that he knew it wanted to make.*
*And then traditions. Warm homemade scones tucked tight in a towel, opening stockings around the table at breakfast, lazing the day away before starting presents- a routine that takes hours and rounds of snacks and creates conversation and leaves us all present-ed out at the end.*
Hope your day was full of love, laughter, and warmth as well.

ReplyDeleteWait. What?! You were blessed with Christmas Eve snowfall?! I have to admit. I am a bit jealous!! Oh well!! God gave us a mystical, magical, deep, thick, eerie fog!! Which Santa would have needed Rudolph's shiny, red nose for!! I expressed that on my main Blog!! ;)

So glad you've decided to bust that camera out again... I've missed your blog posts, dear soul sista! This is the loveliest photo-story of Christmas. There's just something about snow on Christmas that makes it extra magical... And how even more magical it must be knowing that you get to leave the frigid behind and leave out back to sunny Texas..... Ahhhh, to be a Murray... ;)
