Don't Commit to White Onesies

Friends, I'd like to apologize on behalf of the Murrays (that's right... us), for sucking lately at weekly photos. It was one of the only things that people seemed to enjoy seeing on the regular and we totally fell off the picture taking wagon. They are now almost updated, so go back and take a looksie for old time's sake.

Self, I am apologizing to you for requiring the pics to be in a white onesie. I mean, changing a kid into a certain outfit for one little picture is just something someone who's never had a kid would think is reasonable. You'll know better next time.

And to Declan, you did exist in those missing weeks. I'm sorry for not capturing them in that basket and possibly making you wonder if we shipped you away here and there to get a little breather. I gotta tell you that I'm pretty sure if we made a graph the spottiness corresponds perfectly with your rising mobility level. Not that I'm blaming this on you or anything, but you know that saying "when the shoe fits...."?

All in all, they were fun. I'd recommend them. They let you watch your baby grow from a little glow worm to a toothy coot! But please, save yourself some sanity and go hog wild on the outfit, each and every week.

He is growing so fast, well I guess once you are committed to an outfit roll with it!

  2. I had such a love/hate relationship with my photos. And we only did them MONTHLY! Such slackers. I do know better now. Sorry Future Babies. You might get the shaft on this one.

  3. haha As a new mom I totally agree with "I mean, changing a kid into a certain outfit for one little picture is just something someone who's never had a kid would think is reasonable. You'll know better next time."

6 months ago I wouldn't have seen the harm in committing to a particular style for a weekly picture. Now, though....yeah, no way. :)

Kudos to you for [mostly] keeping up with the weekly pictures, though! I wanted to do 365 days of Lincoln [picture a day for his first year]. It went well until I got pregnant again............[then there's that...]! Now I'm lucky if I get the actual CAMERA out. I could make a book out of my phone pictures, though!

  4. I find it almost crazy that of all the bloggers I could possibly attatch myself to in the linkup... its a mommy blogger. Because I'm a million miles away from being a mom...

Maybe you're meant to prepare me?

Crazy how fast he grew.. he better not hate me. Omg. What if he does?

This is an endless comment. But I'm not sorry.

  6. Great photos, although I understand the hassle of getting him changed, it is sweet that he is in the same outfit each time and because its such a simple outfit it's not detracting from him. I love the last picture.

  7. Can I just "ditto" what Shay said?
I think you're meant to prepare both of us.
And does that baldness just make your heart melt every.single.day? Because it literally turns my heart to mush.

  10. Look at him grow! I like the white onesie... although yes, I am sure it would be easier not to have to think about that each time. This is great -- you will really cherish these photos forever.

  11. Interestingly enough, I didn't take a lot of early pics of my older son. I didn't get the camera bug until he was already a toddler but I did get monthly pics in the early days. It does get harder the more independent they become, though!

  12. I love these pictures! I thought about doing weekly... now I'm lucky to get monthly. I take pictures of her every single day but not in the same spot or outfit. Mom fail? Maybe :)

  13. Weekly photos (hell, monthly photos) are HARD!! I hear you on that. Sounded like such a great idea and then it just gets away from you. I've been VERY late on a couple of Mac's monthly shoots. I try, but it just doesn't always happen. I'm hoping to get his 12 month photo done in the next few days so I can use them all in a birthday poster at his party on Saturday, but who knows! No pressure, right?

  14. He looks adorable! I honestly don't know how you do weekly photos, I just did our third monthly photo and I've almost given up already. Scrolling through your collection, it does seem worth it though, doesn't it? I love your little captions on the weeks you missed.
